Taylor Swift has once again shown her generosity, donating $50,000 to a fundraiser supporting Ashley Taunton, a Connecticut mother who suffered serious injuries after stopping to help teenagers involved in a highway accident in Rhode Island.

Swift’s $50,000 contribution was made to a GoFundMe campaign created to help Taunton and her family during her long recovery. The donation became the fundraiser’s largest individual contribution.
Along with the donation, Swift reportedly included a personal message wishing Taunton the best possible recovery and sending love to her family.
Ashley Taunton Was Helping Teenagers
Taunton, a 42-year-old certified nursing assistant and mother of three, was driving south on Interstate 95 in Rhode Island on July 18 when she encountered teenagers whose vehicle had hydroplaned during rainy conditions.
Instead of continuing on her journey, Taunton stopped to help.
While she was assisting the teenagers, another vehicle reportedly lost control on the wet roadway and headed toward the group. Taunton pushed one of the teenagers out of the vehicle’s path before she was struck herself.
Serious Injuries Led to a Long Recovery
The accident left Taunton with severe injuries, including multiple fractured ribs, a ruptured diaphragm, internal bleeding and injuries involving internal organs.
She required major surgery and faces an extended recovery that includes additional medical treatment and physical therapy. Her family created the fundraiser to help with medical expenses and other household costs while she recovers.
A Remarkable Connection
The story became even more personal when Taunton later learned that one of the teenagers she had helped was the son of a longtime friend.
The discovery added another emotional dimension to an already extraordinary story of courage and selflessness.
