Sandy Liang Creates Her Own Fashion Archive
The idea for Dressing Up came partly from something Liang realized she was missing: an official archive of her own work. Although her Lower East Side studio is filled with photographs, fabrics, clothing, sketches, and creative references, much of her design history had never been formally organized or preserved.
Working on the book gave Liang an opportunity to bring those scattered memories together. Thousands of photographs from her phone, backstage moments, fashion images, and important milestones became part of the creative process.

The visual language of Dressing Up: Sandy Liang is strongly influenced by scrapbooking, something Liang has loved for years. The book combines personal photographs with fashion imagery and handwritten-style annotations, creating an informal and emotional record of her journey.
