The format builds on his earlier show, Late Night Lycett, but gives him a much larger playground.
There is just one amusing problem: Lycett initially failed the licensing examination required to legally operate the pub. He has joked about his lack of preparation, although arrangements are in place to ensure the programme can legally go ahead.
Joe Lycett Returns to Stand-Up
Alongside television, Lycett is also returning to stand-up after spending time away from touring.
He has been performing regularly to rebuild his confidence and says that getting back on stage initially felt unfamiliar. The process has gradually become enjoyable again, however, and he is preparing for a new UK tour.
Despite his growing profile, Lycett insists that he does not want to reshape his comedy simply to satisfy critics or audience expectations.
For him, maintaining his own voice matters more than trying to produce the version of himself that other people might prefer.

Lycett is also part of the upcoming cast of The Celebrity Traitors, one of the most anticipated television events of the year.
